    Thumbs up 4X4 Slash!!

I was just wanting to get some opinions on what everyone thinks about the new 4x4 slash. And I also have some info on it.

    The new slash
    http://www.traxxas.com/products/elec...r/default.html

There will be 2 versions of it

    1. 4x4 slash rtr $379.99
    2. Platinum Edition $399.99 Comes with all the aluminum upgrades, esc and motor, body, servos, NO controller.

These are prices from my local hobby shop. I am sure prices every were will be around the same

i am not a alum freak but i could part off the alum i wouldn't want and then put rpm parts in their place.... alum bends , rpm flexes, stock plastic breaks ...i go with rpm as you know CA.

    and i have a dx3s so no need for a 2.4 TQ.

    my two cents
"if you ain't breakin you ain't having fun!.... yet"

I have a dx3s so no need for another traxxas radio. Also the slash was tuff as hell but i still seen some brake so if it makes it stronger thats a plus. I say spend 20.00 more and have the cool looking one with a custompainted body by zuselilbuddy lol

My slash is payed for. I am just gonna get the rtr one. Not a big fan of aluminum on something that i am gonna drive pretty hard. I am sure the other one looks pretty though. Now traxxas just needs to get off there a#* and ship them to the hobby stores!!
Keep the thoughts coming though guys!!

Aluminum in the rite places is much better than RPM.
Especially when it comes to castor blocks.
RPM castor blocks are known to bend the pins as it flexes too much.
Sometimes flex is not a good thing.

I voted platinum. The aluminum parts are not typical stuff I've ever seen break. The hubs and steering blocks are usually pretty bulky and the leverage on those parts vs an aluminum turnbuckle on arm is much less.

Maybe you should get a sponser, Or come back to reality? With = drivers the sc10 is no match for the slash. The slash is setup for more all around driving out of the box. Asphalt, back yard high traction all the diffs are tight. A little adjusting like im sure the sc10 had done to it and its not a race. But yea out of the box its loose on a clay track.

the 4x4 slash is probably great, but most people probably got the slash as a first truck, like me. If seen the new slash but it seems like its a lot more complicated. Speed would be nice but new drivers may go a little too fasat if they choose this for their first truck. Honestly i have no urge to go out and buy one due to the price tag of $300 or $400. I guess I'll have to see how well it sells compared to the regular, old-fashioned, 2x4 Traxxas Slash
