My son, 7, got the orange jeep for Christmas last year, and we got it all ready for some snow fun since we got a bit this week. While playing today, he managed to either insert or jar loose a previously inserted metal ball chain thing from a nail clipper or something. Anyways, it shorted out something and won't stop running in forward now. Then it started smoking and I find a burnt transistor. If anyone knows electronics, I know soldering and fire and general messin' with stuff. I'm sure the part is color coded to tell me the ratings etc, but not a clue how to cross-reference it.
If no help that route, anyone have a spare set of the boards in the belly? I assume it's just the main board that's bad, as it recieved the short.
Please keep in mind, I can still order a whole new chassis and electronics for $60-$70 from the manufacturer and that's too much, so don't rape me too hard on the part please. Ideal person would one that burnt up the motors or gears or something and doesn't want to fix it.
