Here are a few pics of my truck after I went muddin through about 5" of mud and water.I was doin fine until I hit one side and lost my momentum, lol, then I sunk and she died.I had to go out in the mud to get it....Funny part is the motor came out fine, didn't have any junk in it,thank goodness,But the wheel bearings are shot!!
lol, that fuel tank used to be clear!!!!!

electronics still work fine!!!I used the ballon method but I think I am gonna buy some plasti-dip stuff and dip my servos!

that was after I rinsed it off some in the lake, cuz my wife wouldn't let me put it in the car otherwise.lmao

I had a f-in blast.I can't wait to do it again.Make sure you waterproof EVERYTHING before you go muddin. But as long as you take the necessary steps prior to goin then it is so much fun.I have gone in the snow too.
I took a rc10gt through the sand, that was alot of fun,I ended up blowing out the rear diff cuz I had it too tight.

i taped up my batteries but water got in and caused some problems... XP
next time i'll try plasti-dip on the batteries!
as for the o-ring, you want it maybe 10% smaller than the shaft as a rule of thumb. my dad happened to have a box full of o-rings of all sizes and whatnot.
it's also advised to lube or greas the ring to make sure it's a water-tight seal!
jessejoe23
09-26-2007, 03:23 PM
yeah I am gonna put vaseline on the o-ring,I've heard it works really good.
M3mph1s
09-26-2007, 03:40 PM
yeah
it'll seal up in between the casing of the servo (as if tightening the servo horn wouldn't) and in between all the little teeth better.
of everything i waterproofed, the servos held up the best!!
but then later on, i got super-glue in the connector and now it won't fit in the receiver...

I can't wait to get my truck together and taker through the mud again.I am gonna try some different tires this time. losi tires are good in the grass but I think stockers might be better in the mud

yea i would use the original tires the cevrons they are a self cleaning tread design when the wheel turns it throws the mud out of the tread
