Something's clicking in my tranny. I replaced the idler yesterday with the aluminum piece, and I checked all the gears in the tranny, and everything will still ok. I did the note book paper to set gear mesh trick, and something still clicks, but it's weird, it only does it when I hit the brakes. Any ideas? Also, how I go I get a stripped grub screw out? I stripped the one on the left side while trying to take off the drive shafts. I was clicking before I replaced the gear. Any ideas?

i had the same problem with my rustler but i dint strip out the screws i came to the conclusion the clicking noise is the brakes to im pretty sure the when the brakes lck up it holds them and it shifts the disc a little in the calipers and clicks that what i think the noise was

Rustlers and the rest of the parts sharing pack have a problem with the Idler shaft itself. The pressed pin that holds the Idler gear inside the tranny starts to get stressed and "will" break.I just went through this with mine and it was making the same sound before it went.It drove me nuts,I must have had that tranny apart a handful before i found out (when it broke)
