is one gallon of fuel a lot for an engine to be purchased, just trying to figure out the useage ratio thanks for any help.

Here is the problem..
It could be a lot for a cheap engine that was abused and never taken care off. At the same time i have had engines that worked great after 3-4 galons. I would say it's all about the quality of the engine and how much you take care of it.
P.S. What i do is take my good engines apart after each serious race and clean them out well.
