I have a tmaxx 1.5 with a pull starter. The truck came with the EZ start but there was a problem with it out of the box so the hobby shop gave me money back and put a pull starter in it for me. Anyways, i take the truck out the other day and the pull starter doesnt seem to grip and pull the engine. It just feels loose. Every now and again it will actually turn the motor over and it will start just fine. But it normal takes about 45mins of pulling to get to that to happen which is annoying. Any suggestions?

It sounds to me that you just have to clean or change your one way bearing on the engine. That is the part that grips the engine shaft when yu pull the starter. And if it was the pull starter itself i don't think you would be able to start it at all.

here is a quick tip for your one way bearing. It works for the easy start too.
what you do is drill a small hole on the center of the plastic back plate. just big enough to fit a bout an inch or so of fuel tubing in so it will stay on its own. then when ever your one way bearing is slipping just give it a good squirt of wd-40. now you won't have to take the bearing off to clean it everytime it slips.
