You don't want to waste your money on one man.
They just mess up the internals.
But, if you are willing to buy a p/s a lot go ahead :p.

ok .... umm what vehicle are you looking to get one for ? hpi rtr is pritty vage. and most peaple do not have them beacaus it is cheeper to buy a big block or to have one ported than it is to buy a supercharger , and alot more power. but i have not , and i do not no anybody who has done this so please buy one and get back to use on how they work. Rb concepts makes em and they will cost in between $100 and $300.

from what I hear, supercharging your rc makes more power than porting or putting a bigger motor on the model. The air charge is more stable, and the engine runs cooler than the naturally aspirated one.
I have a friend who has a supercharger and thru our experience on this system is none of those blown internals or blown block. On his first gear, it runs like a naturally aspirated but once it hits the second gear, it doesn't matter who is on the way whether its a serpent 1/8th scale, or a picco .28 motor or better yet, an awd subaru sti or a mitsubishi evolution. I wished we had a video recorder that day when my friend was challenged by his neighbor with an 11.75 second 1/4 mile time mitsubishi evo. in short, supercharging an rtr is really the most excellent upgrade and later, you can go for a bigger motor with the supercharger that you have and ported head to and maybe bigger throttle.

:p
From my experience superchargers are a waste, but go ahead and get one if you want.
And also, what has your friends neighbor done to his evo?

hmmm, thats not a bad evo. but why is he only running 660's? mine was similar built, but with a 3037 turbo, 880cc inj. type R inercooler, full ralliart plumbing, oh, and 30psi boost., it was sittin in the low 400hp area, and with a twinplate it would run high 10's. Now back on the subject at hand.......I love those lil superchargers, I got one on my rc drag truck. I'd prolly sell it, but with all the mods done to it, it woudnt be anywhere in your price range...:( they are great( if you can tune them right) as for yours being an HPI , they are pretty universal, just gotto know wether its a parallel mount or perpendicular mount. I would highly reccomend buying one new, cuz, there is too much risk involved with buying one used. if you do find one, do what I did, get the 50% overdrive pully for it(30% is stock), get it all mounted, then send it to TNT, they will massage your engine around the charger so it will produce even more power.

I have to tell you man, I don't know much about the most mods of my friend's neighbor's evo but that I have written on it. I am pretty sure he had changed some stuffs since the race co'z he ran 11 sec on a quarter mile after him racing my friend's rtr supercharged.
On the other hand, I am a BIG DSM myself. I have a 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX with 6 bolt conversion. We had it Dynoed at 890 AWDHP at 35 lbs of boost and my block is capable of 50 lbs. My Motor was built with Shep Tranny with GVR4 1st gear dual synchroes on all gears LSD on the tranny is installed as well to get a better traction. I have a DSS stage 5 Drive shaft on all 4 corners .
Gosh, mods has lots and lots and long laundry list
I could go on all day talking about my motor mods.
Anyway, Call me a my cell at 917 577 9389
Maybe we can talk more about DSMs/ EVO's
