Isn't this kit RTR complete King Hauler kit only $315?

http://www.stellamodels.net/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=76_78&products_id=621

and your radio $68?

http://www.stellamodels.net/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=160&products_id=1552

A couple pieces of aluminum for extended frame rails, batteries, a few added lights and different bumper and visor sure jack the price.
Oh ya...and that House of Kolors paint job strikes again....

I know ya think I'm probably coming across as an *** on the past two tractor trailer posts...but I laughed at the one for $1,000 and now choke at this for double!
I guess I consider this a hobby and not an income. How does around $500 worth of stuff tops... turn in to $2,000? I just don't get it.
I sure hope you are not putting something like a $15 per hour value on your mentioned 72 hours of time involved.
Huh?... no money for the labor you gasp? Well basically , no.... it's a hobby.
Good luck with your sale.

I have great interest in getting a truck like yours...kit or built by someone like you,...either way won't matter to me.
I have been picking the brain of many a builder of these rigs over the past few months to see what I can get for around a grand.
I know custom stuff is custom stuff and comes with custom prices and do appreciate your break down but even looking at that list I am kinda bewildered.
I know unless I have the EXACT part number for everything you mention..I can't compare apples to apples , but even things I know of like the King Hauler kit and the Tamiya MFU.... your local hobby shop must be nailing you for some serious up-pricing. They have tacked $50 on the kit and MFU each.
Not trying to run your balls over with a bulldozer dude...just looking for the real skinny on what I am going to have to drop for a working tractor.

Hey Joe,
It sure felt like you running over my ball it really did.
Everyone I build for customers with out the MFU and just the Tamiya light kit is around 1200.00 just in parts. And I charge 10.00 an hour.so total price is around 1500.00-1700.00 that includes paint to.
Granted I price around to but when a customer wants a special thing then I have to get that time.I get alot of my kits and etc from Tower Hobbies. And most from flea bay due to their is no hobby store local of me carry parts for these. They are all custom parts.

That wrecker is insane! I know some of the equipment stuff can get insane. I have a friend who paid $6,000 for a Leihbeir (spelling?) excavator!!!
I am just trying to boil down costs of a running assembled rig ready to use.
I see the King Hauler kits list for $305, and then see them selling for $2,000 ready to use, waz/am just seriously interested in what gets that big jump in price.
Thanks for taking the time to deal with my ignorant azz and breaking things down for me.

Looking at that tow rig you have going.... I can't help but wondering if you couldn't paint that up to match a local tow company and then approach them for a REALLY top dollar selling price and it would be basically free for them, because they could simply write it off as a business expense?!

Your workmis toP notch..... Thanks again
