Yep I'm A Garbage Picker! WOW!

Ok so I didn't really pick it out of the garbage, but my cousin did. He drives truck, and drops and picks up dumpsters all over the Detroit metro area. Well recently while covering a dumpster he was picking up, a clear RC body caught his eye. He is well aware of the RC fanatic that I am, so he decided to pull it out and see if I wanted it. Beauty of it all is that underneath that body was a box holding everything you see in these pics. HPI Nitro RS4 2. Brand spanking new! Only partly assembled. He called me up and asked if I wanted it. My answer is obvious :D

It appears as if there are only a few bits and pieces missing. I'm just getting started with finishing the assembly, so I'll know what if anything I'll need to locate and order in order to complete it in the next couple days. I will update this thread as I go along.

your not too far from me, i'm in brighton! nice pick btw, i got my first hobby grade out of the garbage when i was 10 it was a kyosho somthing, it was a monster truck.

Not too far at all. Don't ya just love pulling RC's out of the garbage? I have a Tamiya Midnight Pumpkin, and an old MRC boat I'm working on that were both pulled from the trash a few months ago. I always keep my eye on the shoulder of the road.

I have a set of purple aluminum a arms front set worn on botum some not to bad back set like new onley a cuple marks. If you want them I will sell all 4 a arms and a nother purple aluminum part for hpi rs4 for $12 shiped. Let me know.

Nice Pick there... Me being a Garboligist (trashman) myself, I too have so far found several r/c cars in the trash, not including this laptop im typing on now.

My first car that got me seriously into it was a garbage pick , sort of , was dropping some stuff off at my local thrift store here and saw still in the box unassembled a Kyosho Big Boss , asked the guy who was taking deliveries what they were going to do with it. And they told me probably just toss it since its a "MODEL". I told them I would take it and was told go right ahead. Now it took me a few months to get the courage up and assemble it but I did and was hooked! I wish though I would have known then though , but now that truck would have been worth some money! And yes I bashed the heck out of it to oblivion , it was really slow (still put those wally world toys to shame though) , but It was a blast!!!

Great score. Yeah would be awesome to still have it now. Got the body painted and stickered on this piece of trash lol
