i havent dealt with rc stuff in about 15yrs. i have a tamiya wild willy, lunch box, and i just got a stampede rtr. i wanna see the wild willy run, so far i got an esc, and the stock motor in it radio coming soon, my question is about the batteries; i just bought a hobbico 905 15min charger for $12.00 shipped off e-bay and i was wondering if this will work on the new 6cell 3000-3300mah batteries or did i just buy a useless charger??? :-?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

yeah that should work just fine as long as you dont overcharge 'em.

Are the batteries NiCad or NiMH?
The NiMH are a bit more touchy than the old NiCads - I would recommend that if you are going to get serious, in either case, you should buy a peak charger, capable of handling NiMH batteries - yes, there is a difference in the software...

The Pirahna Digital charger is a good choice - will handle both NiCad and NiMH. Since Tekin is now once again in business, the old BC-112A (12V input only) or BC-112C (110V OR 12V input) is a good choice - once you buy one - send it in to Tekin for the software update - cost: $50 for the update, $60 for update AND service!
Integy makes some good chargers, as well as Team Orion.
We use an old Tekin BC-112C, and are looking for a BC-112A to "sister up" to the C - it plugs into the back. We also use the Pirahna Digital and the Orion D67. The Pirahna is nice, because it can be set up for 10 different battery profiles. The others need to be programmed for every time you change battery type, but the Orion has cutoff for not only peak voltage, but also temperature!
One which is highly recommended in R/C circles is the Novak Millenium Pro - make sure it's the PRO version! It's newly improved for any available battery type on the market, except the LiIon (Lithium Ion batteries - no memory! Nice!!!)
Ebay is a great source for good, used, and many times quality stuff - but be careful! Know what you are looking for - research what the typical "final bid" price is, and make sure the stuff is in good and/or updated condition before you commit!
Motors are a ****shoot on Ebay! Many we have bought there have been completely shot. We have decided to no longer purchase motors on Ebay, unless they happen to come in a package deal, in which case we assign them no value in considering our maximum bid.
Hope this helps!

I am not familiar with those chargers - meaning that I am aware of their existance, but do not have any information on them other than the recognition of their names.
Check on Ebay - do an advanced search - check the box marked "completed auctions" - use the names of the chargers, and see what they go for on Ebay.
Perhaps do a google search for the brand "duratrax" and "MRC" - go the the company's website, and read up on the particulars on those chargers there.
