I have S-maxx, with 2.5. need help becuase everytime i turn it on after like 10 mintures it starts to smoke from the head. I assume that means overheating...i turn it off as soon as i see that. i tuned it properly. Its running more rich then lean.(just to be safe) Im not sure whats going on, nor do i want to even ruin my engine... i mean the truck runs so well!!!!! Does anyone have any ideas what might be happening. Also i do perform the after run things. putting after run oil in the carb, take the glow plug out, an run the EZ start for 10 secs. (i do it according to traxxas)

Do you have a temp gun to monitor head temp?
It sound like an air leak when the fuel tank gets emptied to me
I would start by checking your fuel tank. take it off the truck put a clean piece of fuel tube on either the the pressure port or the intake port and cap the other end put in a tub of soapy water and blow into the clean tube to see if it leaks. If you are careful and plug the carb and exhaust port you can do the same thing with your motor

If you're doing an after run, after you use it every time it may just be after run oil burning off of the head when the motor is reaching operating temp.
