It seems that are grate hobby is suffering, prices are getting higher, and i see more and more people getting out the hobby.and i have also noticed that rc shops and stores are dropping like rocks in a pound, alot are downsizing and keeping just what they can,and smaller tracks are closing because of sales and racers and bashers not being able to buy from them.not counting the people that whant to get into rc and are worried that if they do the support and companies wont be there in the future, even the electric guys are suffing to a degree evreone has a electric bill, and bills in genral,so what is to become of are hobbie when the people with money is the only ones buying . So what can we do,ask the govermount for a bail out,i think not,try to sell to the guys that have money, works for awile till there priortys change, so what can be done.thanks

I agree. People are dropping like flies when it comes to RC. And its sad to see, because its a great hobby. Hopefully it will get back on track here shortly.

You're right about the shops closing. I live in dothan AL and we only had one RC shop/track. The guy that owned it couldn't afford to keep renting the lot, so he closed up. Now I have to order all my parts online and I don't have a track to run on;(

I'm so broke I havn't run my rc's in like 2+ months because I need ESC's for both of my brushless beasts and can't afford MMM's
I try to save up but something always comes up and the few things I've been trying to sell just don't move.

I'm not getting out just can't afford to get back in.

Everything takes a hit some time. Sooner or later. I see stuff going cheap on ebaynow. Now is the time to buy!! I don't even go to the shops anymore. I don't buy at online shops anymore either. This economy dosen't stop me. I continue to build. http://www.rcjunkyard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10854
It just takes me longer to find what I need at the price I want.:D

Dothan AL is about as southern redneck as you can get. People really don't care if you take a shotgun out in your yard and fire it. I just run my trucks in the empty lot next door. Even when I had big block nitros (read LOUD!) nobody said anything. I had a couple people stop by and watch. To bad I had to sell the nitros and can't afford to keep a truck running right now. Sigh...........

Here I am 2 months from my last post.
I have a used EZ Run 90amp brushless coming I got a really good deal on.
That will get my MT back up and running.
Now to come up with $70.00 to get my MMM reconditioned and myOfna 1/8 can get back to a running status.
Over 4 months since I've run anything.
Man being unemployed sux out loud.
Almost as bad as being put out of my life long 20+ years as a mechanic because a $30,000 shoulder operation over a year ago made me not as strong as I used to be.

This is what I don't understand about whats going on right now. If so many people are getting laid off and have no opportunities to work. Then how are we suppose to pay our rent and mortgages? How are we suppose to live? Times are tuff and our good old government seems to be up to the usual BS. Helping the rich and not the middle class or poor. I had a car dealership and I cant sell a car to save my life and now I had to close it down. I just dont know. The economist are saying that jobs will be the last thing to make a come back....Honestly I am liking socialism more and more. Soon people will stop bickering about it and take those handouts.

I think saying its a disgrace to live in the US is a little harsh, you can leave anytime you want.
Me I'm proud to be an American, and no matter how ****py things here are rite now it could be worse.
We are not war torn, we are still the fattest country, we are still what they (who ever they is) call free.
Govrnment is what we the people made it so who's to blame.
It all started with the fuel crissis last year and has gone down hill ever since.

Who do we blame for that, its not the govrnment, its the comoditey traders that were holding billions of gallons of fuel driving up prices so they could sell it for more.
It was a trickle down affect from there.
These comoditey traders, who are they? Mostly americans.
This war on terror that some how got side tracked from Osama been forgotten to Sadam ***
Wars usually make the economy thrive but not this time but thats another story.

Our men fighting for us are #1 in my book and not their choise what they do, they follow orders.

Ya things are pretty screwed up but I'd never say I an disgrased to be an American EVER.
Again harsh to say but if you don't like being an American...... LEAVE.

You know I do agree with you to a point. But honestly, what do we as a people have to be proud of at this point? We can't even take care of our own people. I have been to many third world countries in my life time and never has any of them made profits off sick people. Thats disgusting. Not to mention our ****py government. People keep saying that we made it what it was. Actually I dont think so. We vote people in office based on what they say they are gonna do for us. Then they get into office and its all about them and their constituents. Even Obama is guilty of the same mess. We voted him in and all he can do is butter up the pockets of the banks, the health insurance companies, Wall Street and is going to start yet another war that no one wants or that we can afford. Lets be real here. Ever wonder why other countries are not backing us? Well because its not necessary. Who died and decided for the US to make peace in every country? Hell we can't even make peace in the USA, let alone in the Middle East where they have been going at it since before Jesus Christ for Gods sake.
