Hello folks,
I have a RARE Cox .049 GTP Nissan RTR that I would like to trade or sell if the price is right. I am looking for a nitro stadium truck like XXX-NT or something similar. I would even consider an almost RTR 1/8 scale buggy without radio gear to reduce cost. I would prefer a complete system in trade, I would really like the new XXX-NT Sport with the JR radio, but enough of what I want. On to what I have...
Complete Cox GTP Nissan RTR setup. I saw one on ebay that wasn't near as complete as this one and it went for 150 bucks. (I can provide the link to the completed auction if you would like to look at it, just let me know) I cleaned the car up a bit and verified that all of the electronics work I don't have any cox fuel nor am I willing to run this little fella and chance breaking something. Here goes the list - again:
Complete RTR car with engine, radio, servo's etc already installed. Add fuel, AAA's and a breather foam, and its ready to run.
Cox .049 glow engine. Engine turns freely and feels like it has good compression.
Checked glowhead with an AA and it glowed bright orange, so it appears to be good also.
Original Sidewinder TX, RX, and Microservo's with the AAA battery box.
Owners manual (manual has a lot of old stains on it, and fondly smells like nitro/3-in-1 oil, but is VERY readable and in overall good shape. No tears or missing pages, just the stains)
Owners paper for Sidewinder radio gear. Same condition as manual.
Original Nissan GTP Body shell -STILL CLEAR- This shell has not been painted, however it has been cut out. The edges are not as neat as I would have done if I had been the one to cut it. Plus there is a small hole to the left of the antenna hole. Not sure how that got there, it was there when I got the car. As with anything listed, I will be happy to take a picture of the shell and try to show the damage.
Decal sheet for original nissan GTP shell. This sheet has the decals show on the cover of the box.
Cox Starter set toolbox
Both glow head wrenches
Glow head clip with about 12 inches of wire connected
Original Zip Stick
Original Antenna tube and rollover wire
Tires look like they are the original foam's and they are cherry, they don't look like they have ever been ran.
I even have the original box, but it is in pretty tattered shape. The bottom is still solid, but the corners of the top have all come apart. The pictures are still exceptionally visible.
I have 2 original cans of cox fuel, one is 16 oz and the other is only 8 oz...however NOTE- These are probably the cans that came with the car...I WOULD NOT USE THIS FUEL! They are for collectible purposes ONLY.
If cox fuel is like other nitro based model fuel, age is its worst enemy.
I even have the 3 D-Cell glow plug battery. Its probably dead, but I haven't tried it. (yes its 3 D's in parallel, so still only 1.5v)
There is only 1 problem that I have found. the right rear body post is partially stripped where the screw comes up from the chassis and holds it. The existing screw is kinda short, so probably just adding a longer screw with more bite would help, but I haven't tried.
When I got the car, it was all gummed up with oil. I just tore the engine pod down and completely cleaned everything and gave it a fresh touch of 3-in1 oil. The engine turns freely and the clutch and ratcheting 1-way starter clutch both function exceptionally. The EGR valve is in mint condition. The breather “snorkel” needs a new filter element, it had a small 1/4th by 1/4th inch foam breather, but that died years ago. I took each of the servo's apart and completely cleaned them with alcohol and they work very well now. Chassis still has some oil residue on it, but hey, its a nitro car...impossible to keep them clean forever.
If you are interested I will be happy to email pics. I don't have any right this second, I'm at work and typing this out. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask, i will be happy to answer.
Again, I want a nitro off road that I can run and not worry about buying replacement parts for, this little car is definitely runnable, but way too collectible for me to just bash with. I will listen to any reasonable offers. I'm looking for an good condition Off-road nitro 2wd truck, or possibly an 1/8 scale 4wd buggy. I would like all necessary radio equipment including transmitter and receiver and battery pack. Stock or Modified.
Any offers will be considered. I would also be willing to sell, but I have no idea what a reasonable price is for it. As beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder. Please make an offer, I will consider it.
We can argue about shipping and other details later, if your interested. I will only ship once I have received from you...I have been ripped off tooooooo many times in the past to make that mistake again, hopefully you can understand.
Thanx for taking the time to read this, and sorry for babbling, its habit.
If I don't get any reasonable offers, I will probably just list this little fella on ebay, I just prefer trading usually.
PS: I would really like one of those Team Losi XXX-NT Sport RTR trucks. The one with the JR XR2 radio and the Z590 servo :-)
Again, thanx for reading,
