I had some new gears put in the tranny, 5 tanks later I am now wishing I had gone with steel. I was wanting to know if anyone else is having to run steel and what kind of luck have you had with them, do they mesh well and what is the maker of them. I have seen the Robinson gears, they are the only one's I have heard of, anyone have any suggestions I would like to hear it.

Accually a friend works at a hobby shop near me and I let him put some gears in the tranny and I ran it earlyer when tapped the gas it broke I guess an output shaft in it. Now it is front wheel drive only. I'm not sure what broke but when I turn the back tires the front doesn't turn and the tranny makes a clicking noise.

The reason I thought it to be the center diff was the noise but I just picked the truck up and the rear wbeels don't turn the driveshaft but the front do so I guess it's the rear diff. Anyone know how to make them stonger?

ebay for sure you want a diff spool its a locker for the rear makes it spin both wheels . but dont put 1 in the front it will make it hard to turn on the road

put all steel cvds in it get rid of the plastic drive shafts . detune you motor a lil to cut the power back some . other than that you just have to be easy on it . t maxx aint made for all that big power

i would do steel in the front diff to and a spool in the rear diff . and if you keep breaking stuff then . you will have to regear your truck to handle the power . like go with a bigger pinion or a smaller spur gear . and on a tmaxx i had problem with the metal spur gears so i would stick with plastic till you get it rite . plastic is cheep to replace
