Just did some searching on traxxas and found that it looks like they use almost the same chassis it looks like and the bulkheads are the same number just the control arms and drive shafts are shorter is all it really looks like along with some minor differences.

the slayer uses the same chassis as the 2.5 revo. i just converted one of my revos. to make the driveshafts just use the center driveshaft halfs and from the u joints out use the revo spindles. the toe links and pushrods came out of my jato parts box the only thing i had to buy was the arms and bumpers. and my slain revo was born!

Let's see some pics. I've been wanting to start doing this but I can't find the parts anywhere. Where did you get the parts from?

Yeah, I seen alot of stuff on ebay, but it's all overpriced. I'll wait until my hobby shop can get it from Traxxas.

From What Ive heard the Slayer conversion is nothing but control arms, drivelines,Bumpers, rims, tires and a Body.Other than that its a Revo 2.5 with a 3.3 motor.Although I think the Body mounts are different as well.Ive heard alot of guys converting Their Stampedes to Slashes for a mere $125 in parts.

Hey, looks good. I just ordered some arms at my LHS. Hopefully I can get some stuff before it goes on backorder. Do the Slayer axles have the boots and stuff on them or are they just what you got?

i disassembled the stock revo shafts and just used the u-joint out and the other u-joint in and replaced the center two halves with the halves from the transmission to the diff.

You can just cut down old REVO 3.3 shafts if you have any lying around.
Why turnbuckles? Unless your going from 2.5 REVO to Slayer. 3.3 REVO should have the same turnbuckles.
Swaybar kit is optional.
And $30 for arms.
I'm just trying to see if it could be cheaper for those who don't want to dish out half the cost of a new one to convert, lol.
Looks to be around $150-$200 in parts...

I don't know if I wanna do this or not. Are they the same size as a Slash? It says they use the same clear body. That's $180 worth of parts the cheap way. A new Slash is only $200 isn't it?

The turnbuckles will be shorter since the arms are shorter. I don't think it's worth it either.

Hey, has anyone seen the new one Team Associated makes. That thing is expensive. I'm gonna try and find a link.

That's $200 to convert a REVO to Slayer, which is a 4WD Nitro (or elec conversion (which would be 10X more awesome)).
But yes, a Slash is only $200 new.
I don't quite like it for the only reason being it's 2WD...
I might wait and pick up a couple rollers and do a 4WD conversion and run an EVX and Titans.

Yeah, I don't know which would be more fun to drive. That may be the price difference. Check this thing out if you guys haven't seen it already.

well those shafts look close but have you mounted them in place with the a arms installed? i think you havent because if you have you would find out that those stock shafts are to big they will rub on the arms, i tryed that too, the center shafts have a smaller diameter. good luck

No, I was pretty much killin' time. I figured they didn't make them like that for a reason. I care to much about how my stuff looks to use them anyway. The biggest thing I'm worried about saving money on is the body/wheels/tires.
