Roto Start System

hey there, i own a Savage SS 2.5 and ive had it in the closet for a while and am just starting to break it out, but after one pull on a 2 year old pull start she just ripped right off. so before i went to order a new one i was told about the new rotostart system and i was curious.. can i order the backing plate for the rotostart and use a dogbone on the end of my drill? or should i order the whole $60 kit?

i would use a drill. i like the fact that i can vary the speed of my drill according to which truck(motor) i am trying to start. and also i can change directions for different starters hpi, or roto-start.......they run opposite directions.
